RACHEL CARSON NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
The refuge was established in 1966 to protect salt marshes and estuaries for migratory birds. It is located along 50 miles of Maine coastline and contains around 14,600 acres. The refuge starts in Wells and is a nice walk to take in the scenic coastline.
